Our Team
Management Team
The Cengea team spans Canada from Halifax to the west side of Vancouver Island. Most of us are based in either Vancouver or Winnipeg. Our newest branches are in British Columbia—Prince George and Victoria.
The Management Team Comprises:
Garry Rasmussen
President and CEO
Garry was the founding CEO of ISM BC, a joint venture of BC Tel and IBM in the outsourcing business which grew from a start up to $500 million (Cdn) in annual revenues before being acquired by TELUS Communications Ltd.
He was previously Director, Information Systems at IBM Canada, Chief Administrative Officer, Merrill Lynch Canada and Executive Vice President of the consulting firm Atkinson Tremblay and Associates.
He is a Director of Ansera Ventures Ltd., Make Technologies Inc., IP Applications Inc., Science World British Columbia and the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs.
Darcy Bennett
Vice President Finance and CFO
Darcy's computer systems diploma from NAIT garnered him a career start in the forest industry, where he attained his CMA designation in 1990. After 19 years in positions of increasing responsibility, he joined the predecessor organization, Genus Resource Management Technologies Inc., as its Controller. Following Genus's acquisition by Ansera Resources Inc. in 2005, he was appointed Vice-President Chief Financial Officer, in which capacity he has served since.
Ken Moen
Vice President, Operations
As VP Operations, Ken has responsibility for Engineering, Professional Services, and Customer Support.
Ken has more 25 years of experience working with resource industries and government as an industry CIO, I/T executive and management consultant. Ken was CIO of Canfor 1994-2000 and spent 5 years as a management consultant working with forest and energy industries as well as government before joining Cengea in 2005.
Patrick Lefebvre
Director, Product Management
Since 1993 Patrick has been designing, developing, and implementing various land-based information systems ranging from custom solutions to product offerings. Throughout his experience with ESRI Canada Ltd, Timberline Natural Resources Group, INFORM, and now Cengea, Patrick has been instrumental in the design, construction, and implementation of these systems for customers across Canada and the United States.
Ian Finlay
Manager, Product Development
Ian oversees all aspects of product development for Cengea Forest and Cengea Agriculture including product definition (release planning, requirements, analysis, conceptual design), and development (detailed design, coding, testing and release).
Ian has a background in systems analysis & design, programming, GIS and project management. He has experience in all aspects of developing business systems, including conducting user requirements studies, business process modeling, application design (conceptual and detailed), application development, database design, database implementation, data capture, data conversion, user training, documentation, hardware configuration/installation, and project management. Most of Ian's experience has been in natural resource (forestry, agriculture, environment, land registry) or municipal government sectors.
Chad James
Manager, Support Services
Chad has been with Cengea Solutions and its predecessor companies since 1997, starting as a programmer. He has been involved in many implementations as a business analyst and managed the development team before taking on his current role of manager of the Customer Support group. Chad has a BA and MA in English Literature and a diploma in Computer Information Systems.
Larry Wiebe
Manager, Solutions Delivery
Larry has been with the predecessor companies of Cengea since 1987 and has played many roles in the company along with his current position as Manager, Solution Delivery.
Larry comes from an engineering background that turned into a GIS and development role early in his career. Large data conversion projects were a big part of his early project management in the utilities and geomatics sectors. He has managed many large and small ($20k to $2 million) application development projects, some spanning several years. Since 2006 Larry has played an increasing role in Cengea's corporate management while staying connected to several key clients on project work.
