The Nature Conservancy of Canada Selects Cengea to Develop Its National Land Information System
Winnipeg, MB – September 24 – Cengea Solutions Inc., announced today that it has been selected by the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) to develop NCC’s national web-based Land Information System (LIS).
LIS will support NCC’s core business of securing ecologically significant lands through acquisition of title or rights, and the stewardship of acquired land to preserve its natural values. The LIS will support users in all of NCC’s offices across Canada. It will be a web browser-based system, hosted at NCC’s national offices in Toronto. The LIS will support the full range of securement, stewardship and land administration processes. LIS will also provide functionality such as document management, approval workflow, activity logs, reminders, management of stakeholder information, query and reporting and GIS tools.
“LIS will be the information backbone for NCC’s mission to preserve Canada’s natural legacy and will significantly enhance our ability to work effectively with funders, partners and stakeholders” said Michael Bradstreet, NCC’s Vice President, Conservation.
The Nature Conservancy of Canada is the leading land conservation organization in the country. Since 1962 the private, non-profit group and its partners have helped to protect more than 2 million acres (8,100 square kilometers), of ecologically significant landscapes in Canada.
